DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

No, a referral from your GP is not needed.

CAN I CLAIM A REBATE WITH MY PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE?

You will need to check with your health fund to see if you are eligible to claim for assessments and therapy as all health funds have their own rules.

IS SPEECH PATHOLOGY COVERED BY MEDICARE?

Hummingbird SLP is registered with Medicare. If your GP or paediatrician refers you under a plan then you may be able to claim for some sessions.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CHILD REALLY NEEDS TO SEE A SPEECH PATHOLOGIST?

DO YOU SEE CHILDREN COVERED BY THE NDIS SCHEME?

Yes, I can see children if their funding arrangements are "self-managed" or "plan-managed". I am currently unable to see children if their funding is "NDIS managed". You can read about the various funding types here.
